NPC and NPO Registrations
SERVICE OVERVIEW
NON PROFIT COMPANY (NPC) REGISTRATIONS
In order to apply for tax exemption (PBO), you need a legal form for your organization.
A non profit company is such a legal form.
The registration is done through The Company's Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC)
We need 3 unconnected directors when registering a NPC.
An unconnected person is not a family member or spouse.
You will be supplied with an information page where you will select your company's name and complete the directors' details.
After registration, you will receive a company certificate and other secretarial documents reflecting the directors and company's information
Cost: R2,000
NON PROFIT ORGANISATION (NPO) REGISTRATIONS
The registration is done through The Department of Social Development.
You need 3 unconnected office bearers.
After registration you will receive a NPO certificate indicating your NPO number.
Your organisation's details will then be entered on a national database for potential donors to view.
You do not need to register as NPO for purposes of Tax Exemption with SARS.
You will still remain a taxable entity until you obtain PBO status (tax exemption)
